The King’s Academy Athletics program was formed in the fall of 2005 after prayerful deliberation and research by a group of committed families at The Kings Academy in Woodstock, Georgia. Their desire was to develop a quality program of competitive athletics to meet the needs of middle and high school students attending the academy as well as eligible home school students in the community. In April 2014, the school athletic program underwent a name change to identify it completely with The King’s Academy.
TKA Athletics operates as a not-for-profit organization under the oversight of a Board of Directors and an Operating Board made up of Protestant Christian parents who have demonstrated leadership skills, have a servant's heart, and have an interest in and experience with various sports. These men and women are committed to the Lord Jesus Christ and are deeply involved in the community as well as their local churches. TKA Athletics employs a full-time Athletic Director who manages the day-to-day operations of the association.
We prayerfully depend upon Gods direction and blessing to make this association grow and succeed. We are located in the midst of a very active and supportive community, and many gifted individuals have come alongside to share their resources, talents and athletic abilities with us.
If you are currently enrolled in high school and attend a GAPPS member school, the GAPPS transfer rules will apply. You can learn more about transfer rules on the GAPPS website. To be eligible to tryout for Volleyball and Cheer, you must have your acceptance letter from The King’s Academy. Please note, we are able to take a limited number of AES, "alternative ed" (homeschooled) students, on our teams as designated by GAPPS rules. Contact Athletic Director Michelle Rutledge regarding these regulations.
TKA Athletics’ name and purpose is a reflection of 2 Timothy 2:5 which says, "If anyone competes as an athlete he does not receive the victors crown unless he competes according to the rules."
