The foundation of parent-led education starts with parents who take responsibility for their children’s education. The King’s Academy is a private covenant-based school with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Our unique model offers quality instruction and parent involvement in academics, with a hybrid model requiring 30 hours of instruction weekly. A minimum of twelve hours are spent on campus, with the remaining hours being completed between the school campus and satellite locations under the co-teacher’s supervision. The King’s Academy provides the curriculum and instruction in each location. Teachers partner with parents to develop the whole child--academically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Low student-teacher ratios allow for more individual attention to be given to all students.

The King’s Academy offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum in Literature, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Computer, Spanish, Art and Music. Each subject teacher provides the student with instruction for a minimum of 5 hours weekly. A minimum of two hours per week for each class are based at the school campus, while the remaining 3 hours are a mix of technology-based instruction and assignments at satellite locations under the supervision of a co-teacher. Students taking math, science, and foreign language classes will also receive an additional lab day on campus. Honors classes are offered in a variety of disciplines.

Students have the option of attending classes on Monday and Wednesday or on Tuesday and Friday with labs for both sessions on Thursday. On the satellite days, students work on assignments provided by their TKA instructors. Instruction is provided through technology or by a trained co-teacher. Parents serve as co-teachers in specific roles ranging from direct instruction to independent study monitor, as specified by the course instructor. The co-teacher oversees all TKA planned instruction on satellite days, grades satellite student assignments, and gives immediate feedback that builds continuity into the program. Co-teachers undergo specific training each year to ensure continuity and quality instruction. This format enables students to achieve a high degree of academic excellence while preserving and strengthening family involvement throughout the academic experience.
